The RTI team is pleased to present Stitching Sessions in collaboration with Backwater Artist Group as part of the Stitching Sessions Summer Tour.

During this workshop participants will be introduced to the craft of bookbinding and learn about the different papers, materials and tools needed to create their own hand-bound books. Members of the RTI team will guide participants step-by-step through two bookbinding methods in the morning sessions: the Singer-stitch and the Japanese stab-bind and one binding method in the afternoon session: the French link stitch.

Workshop participants will leave with their own handmade notebooks and the knowledge and understanding of how to apply these binding techniques to their own book projects. The techniques taught can be used to create journals, notebooks, artist books and zines.

Suitable for beginners, from artists to zinesters! All materials are included.
