Read That Image is pleased to announce Make a Photobook: RTI on Tour, a new series of summer workshops taking place this July and August. Based around previous workshop models, MAP will travel the length and breadth of the country guiding artists and photographers in their book making journeys, leaving a trail of photobook love in its wake!

Travelling to Dublin, Cork and Belfast, Make a Photobook: RTI on Tour will cover all aspects of photobook design and self-publishing, including image selection, sequencing, design, layout, printing and binding. The RTI team would like to invite expressions of interest from photographers and artists with a body of work that they would like to develop into a photobook.

The three day Make A Photobook dummy photobook workshops are aimed at photographers and artists who have a substantial body of work which they would like to make into a comprehensive and well designed photobook. In this hands-on approach to photobook making participants will arrive with a collection of images and leave with a hand-crafted dummy photobook that is conceptually and physically resolved.

The two half-day Bookbinding workshops will give participants an introduction to three different types of bindings: singer, japanese stab and coptic. During the workshops participants will employ these binding techniques to create their own handmade bespoke photo journal notebooks.

The one-day Photobook Editing and Sequencing workshop will be an introduction to the world of photobook making. The focus of the workshop will be on image selection and sequencing; crucial elements at the beginning of any photobook making endeavour. During this workshop, participants will edit, sequence and bind their very own handmade photobook maquettes.
