Stitching sessions: BOOKBINDING WORKSHOPS

The Read That Image team is pleased to announce the return of STITCHING SESSIONS, a series of weekly bookbinding workshops taking place during the month of February in the RTI studio. These workshops will introduce participants to the craft of bookbinding, from the simplest of singer stitches to the more complex coptic!

Workshop participants will learn about the different papers, materials and tools needed to create their own hand-bound books. Members of the RTI team will guide participants step-by-step through various bookbinding techniques in these hands on DIY workshops.

Workshop participants will leave with their own handmade notebook and the knowledge and understanding of how to apply these binding techniques to their own book projects. The techniques taught can be used to create journals and notebooks, artist books and zines, and photobook dummies and maquettes. Read That Image will also have photobooks and artist publications on hand to show how these binding techniques are used within the world of art book and photobook design. Suitable for beginners, from artists to zinesters!

*NEW* Bookbinding Guides                                                            To coincide with STITCHING SESSIONS, Read That Image have created a series of Bookbinding Guides which will be available to purchase at each workshop. More details are available here.
