YOU ONLY SEE DAFFODIL'S COMING IN THE SPRING
"This project was stimulated by my experience of attending the London Olympic Games in 2012. I was there for the duration of the games and noted how flags were used as an expression of identity, pride and celebration. Upon retuning to Belfast and the Flag protest that unfolded a few months later, I witnessed a notable change in the use of the Union Flag as a political weapon and it became a symbol for violence and intimidation. This also overflowed into the association of bonfires and parades."
You Only See Daffodil's Coming in the Spring brings together images created by George Robb in his ongoing work Parades, Bonfires and the Union Flag - a research and development project that references aspects of ‘Orange’ Culture.
