a three-day GROUP workshop with the read that image team
- Short description of body of work (max 200 words)
- 10 - 20 images
- Image format: JPEG, 72dpi, 1800px on the long side
Make a Photobook is a three-day group workshop lead by the Read That Image team and guest tutors. Workshop participants will explore each stage of the bookmaking process and create their own photobook dummies.
During the workshop participants will learn the language of the book form, how to read images, make meaningful decisions and build a book that is rooted in a carefully considered concept. Participants will work collectively and individually on their books with guidance from the RTI team throughout each stage of the bookmaking process.
The workshop format is intense, fast-paced, hands-on and highly productive. Participants will arrive with a collection of images and leave with a hand-crafted dummy book, and the knowledge and understanding required to develop it into a fully-fledged photobook.
The workshop takes place from 10am - 5pm, over the course of three days, across two weeks. Our next workshop will take place over the 2nd, 3rd & 10th of September.
We are also pleased to announce that photographer and photobook maker Paul Gaffney will be joining us for day one of the workshop. Paul will be on hand to give sequencing and design advice, and will also be sharing his experiences of photobook making and self-publishing.
To submit please send a selection of images from a body of work along with a brief project description via the submission form. Please note selected participants will be required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of €70 to secure their place on the workshop.
For additional information please contact the Read That Image team.
Submission deadline: Monday 28th August 6pm
